"My neighborhood was out of power for about 4 hours on Sunday. The generator worked perfectly. Thanks."

What to Consider before Buying Your Generator
Beware - not all home standby generators are alike, even when they carry the same name in a discount store. A generator is a complex piece of machinery, similar to the engine you would find in a car, and it demands careful load calculation, installation, and maintenance.
Don't be fooled by cheap offers. It's been our experience that the reasons for a discounted price will come back to haunt you in the end. Here are several points to consider before making the investment to provide backup power for your family:
- Does the model you want have the same capabilities as the one we can offer you?
Make sure you are comparing apples to apples. Some suppliers may sell "stripped down" units for less, but these are often unable to operate certain types of equipment.
- What are the terms of the warranty?
Our warranty begins on the day of startup, not the date of manufacture. Keep this in mind especially when considering online or "warehouse" stores, where generators may have been stored for more than 8 to 10 months.
- Speaking of online vendors – see a great "deal" on the Internet?
Watch out! You could be looking at a discontinued, used, or defective model. Also, because you are required to apply for a permit at your town hall, install the unit, complete gas hookup, and receive an inspection - all prior to startup - if your unit is damaged beyond what can be seen upon arrival, you will most likely be out of luck when you attempt to return it.
- Will the unit be installed by licensed electricians? Are the installers authorized for startup?
If not, they can void the unit's warranty. Unauthorized startups may also mean your warranty will roll back to the date of manufacture.
- Who will service the unit? What is their response time?
We provide 24/7 emergency service should you need it, as well as technology that can monitor your generator's performance and alert us immediately to any problems when you are away.
- Who will coordinate gas hookup to the unit? What are your town's zoning regulations?
Because these can be complex matters, we take care of them for you, saving you the headache.
- Are details such as a pressure-treated base with crushed stone included in the price?
- Finally, and perhaps most importantly, is the unit and all work guaranteed?
We guarantee all parts and labor for one year on every job we do, and should anything go wrong with your unit, we are there to correct the problem and take care of applicable manufacturer's warranty issues for you.
