"I got home around 7:30 and went around the entire house looking for a problem. About a 1/2 hour later I could not find any so I gave up! Kurt and Ralph not only did an awesome job with the project but they cleaned up as if they were never here. I usually go with my instincts and I was correct in my assessment of your company. Professional, courteous and now I learn excellent installers. I will without a doubt recommend your company to others and will go out of my way to look for projects around my own house to have you back."

According to CNN.com, U.S. consumption of electricity has risen 35% during the past decade, while newly generated electric power has risen by only 18%. In addition, the Alliance to Save Energy reports that a continuing trend of severe weather will have a role in producing more outages in the future.
Many Connecticut residents experience that frustrating loss of power several times a year. Our clients live in unstable power grids, maintain home offices or small businesses, or have vacation homes in remote areas that they need to monitor year-round. They rely on home standby generators installed and serviced by PowerHouse because we provide the best products in the industry, we guarantee all parts and labor, and we are there when they need us no matter what the problem might be.
Here's how it works:
A home standby generator monitors voltage from the utility line. If power is interrupted, the generator starts when an automatic transfer switch disconnects the utility line and connects a new power line from the generator at the same time. After utility voltage returns at a steady rate, the load is transferred back to the utility line. Finally, the generator will continue to run for a few more minutes in order to cool down. A home standby system will also conduct a self-test each week to ensure it's ready for the next outage.
Depending upon their size, home standby generators are able to run several appliances and expensive electronic equipment at the same time. They operate using liquid propane or natural gas (no hazardous carbon monoxide fumes to worry about or the need to store gallons of gasoline), respond quickly to outages (some units restoring power in ten seconds or less), and typically produce the same sound level as a central air conditioner.
PowerHouse also offers a generator monitoring auto dialer unit. In the rare event that the generator fails to operate, the dialer will sense this and call us so that we can fix the problem immediately. This technology works particularly well for vacation homeowners.
We care about each of our clients, and we want you to choose the home standby generator that's right for you. Please read some important points to consider before you buy your unit. Because standby generators are significant investments for homeowners, we encourage you to gather as much information as possible prior to making your final decision.
